Job Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of mechanical construction projects across Vancouver Island, BC, from Victoria to Comox. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining close coordination with field operations, subcontractors, and clients.

This position is based on Vancouver Island and requires periodic travel to job sites within the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review issued contracts and confirm project scope against estimates
  • Develop project budgets and issue forecasting reports
  • Collaborate with project accounting team to manage financial constraints
  • Work with purchasing team to negotiate supplier pricing and terms
  • Negotiate subcontractor agreements and define scope of work
  • Coordinate with field leadership to implement labour and install strategies
  • Review and submit shop drawings; review returned submittals
  • Create and manage labour-loaded mechanical construction schedules
  • Oversee performance of subtrades and maintain effective communication
  • Manage and document the change order process
  • Review GC communications, RFIs, and SIs for scope implications
  • Ensure project documentation is up to date with support from Project Coordinators
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress billings
  • Attend monthly construction reporting meetings
  • Assist with QA/QC procedures in collaboration with field teams
  • Apply for necessary permits and ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with GCs, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Manage project closeout documentation and tasks prior to substantial completion
Qualifications
  • Architectural, engineering, construction management or related education preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical construction processes and sequencing
  • Ability to manage cost control, forecasting, and project financials
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
