Job summary

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a Project Leader, Mechanical to oversee mechanical design and construction across renovation, renewal, and new work. You will lead cross‑functional teams of board staff, architects, engineers and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will manage budgets, participate in committees, liaise with regulatory authorities, and ensure compliance with building codes and policies.

Qualifications

• Post secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology/Technician Diploma, or related field of study; and minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• A professional certification from Professional Engineers of Ontario, Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians (OACETT) and a certificate in Project Management from a recognized association would be considered an asset.
• Project management and contract administration experience required, including maintaining and monitoring project budgets and schedules.
• Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures; administrative practices; Building Codes, legislative Acts and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Leading teams (Board staff, Architects, Engineers and Contractors) in developing mechanical design and construction projects (new construction, renovations, additions, renewals).
• Forecasting to identify capital investment needs; conducting audits and analyses.
• Oversee and administer service and construction contracts, including CCDC construction contracts and mechanical engineering contract agreements.
