Job summary

Smith + Andersen in Toronto, ON, is hiring a Mechanical Project Manager for the BAIG (Building Assessment and Improvements Group) to own projects from design through construction. You will lead scope, schedule and budget, coordinate consultants and vendors, and guide each phase with professional judgement while building strong client relationships.

The role suits someone with five plus years in mechanical building services, experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and a track record

Qualifications

• Five or more years of project engineering experience in mechanical building services.
• Experience in mechanical assessments, reports and building condition surveys.
• Experience coordinating prime consultant teams and tender packages.
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP.
• Mentoring or leading a CAD team.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery, coordinating consultants, vendors, and procurement.
• Manage project budgets and fees, track labour against scope, and monitor financials.
• Lead project teams, staffing, and performance, providing technical direction.
• Ensure technical integrity and quality of deliverables produced by the team.
• Lead construction-phase activities, site reviews, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary meetings to align design and resolve scope gaps.
• Ensure deliverables comply with codes, standards and project requirements.
• Serve as the primary client contact and build strong stakeholder relationships.
