Job summary

D-Wave seeks a Mechanical Production Technician II to join our Engineering and Production team in Burnaby. You will assemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies used in our quantum computing systems, working with Engineering, Production, Laboratory Operations, and Supply Chain.

Requires a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and 3+ years of experience with tubing, gas, vacuum systems, and testing procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years experience assembling complex mechanical/electromechanical systems in manufacturing.
• Experience with tubing, gas, vacuum, or pressure systems.
• Experience with soldering, crimping, wire management, and mechanical assembly techniques.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, inspect, and verify mechanical and electromechanical assemblies per documentation and safety standards.
• Build, install, and troubleshoot gas handling racks, manifolds, tubing systems, vacuum hardware, and related assemblies.
• Cut, bend, route, and install tubing, fittings, valves, regulators, gauges, sensors, and other components.
• Perform pressure, vacuum, and leak testing and pump servicing for mechanical validation.
• Support engineering validation builds, NPI, and engineering change implementations.
• Design and fabricate jigs and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency and repeatability.
• Maintain production records and ensure traceability of tests and assemblies.
• Develop and improve manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and test documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and improve quality.
