TWD is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support our client in Fort McMurray, Alberta, with options for Fly-In/Fly-Out arrangements. The schedule is a 4-day work week with 10-hour days, followed by 3 days off.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and support maintenance engineering activities aligned with industry best practices.
  2. Collaborate with maintenance execution, turnaround, planning, operations, and cross-functional teams (process engineers, E/I engineers, machinery engineers) to fulfill engineering tasks.
  3. Prepare and review technical documents ensuring accuracy and addressing concerns and opportunities.
  4. Develop work scopes for reliable operation and maintenance of site systems and equipment.
  5. Provide technical support and recommendations on static equipment, operations, and maintenance.
  6. Participate in audits, investigations, and implement recommendations.
  7. Lead or support troubleshooting efforts and develop viable solutions.
  8. Promote a safety culture related to engineering jobs.
  9. Manage the MOC (Management of Change) process and address deliverables.
  10. Adhere to training, contractor safety qualifications, management requirements, and safe work procedures.
  11. Ensure incidents are promptly reported, investigated, and follow-up actions completed.
  12. Perform field walkdowns and collaborate with maintenance and operations to develop repair plans.
  13. Other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering; registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or meet the APEGA Inter-Provincial Mobility requirements.
  2. 7-10 years of relevant industry experience in oil and gas or a similar industry.
  3. Knowledge of applicable industry codes (API 510, 570, 574, 653, ASME B16 series, B31.3, PCC-1 / PCC-2, CSA Z662).
  4. Understanding and ability to apply Acts, Regulations, and Codes.
  5. Experience with reliability tools such as FMEA and RCA.
  6. Ability to work in a dynamic environment and visit plant areas following HSE requirements.
  7. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and cloud-based applications.
  9. Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent.
