Job summary

Linesight is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our Calgary team, where you will develop and coordinate project estimates with the project team and stakeholders. You will contribute to Basis of Estimate creation, risk analysis, and contingency recommendations while maintaining local rate libraries for accurate cost forecasting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an Estimator in construction, with experience using Sage Timberline, InEight, or CostX, and holds a construction-related degree.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Estimator in construction with increasing scope and responsibility.
• Degree or comparable experience in a construction-related discipline.
• Chartered status or on track to achieve RICS, CEP or CPE (beneficial).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and quality-focused; thrives on client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team.
• Assist in developing the total project estimate and Basis of Estimate.
• Contribute to risk analysis and contingency recommendations.
• Maintain current local rate libraries for use in estimates.
• Collaborate with team and clients to ensure cost-effective solutions.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team
• Help the development of the total project estimate
• Help prepare the total Project Basis of Estimate and the Estimate Risk Analysis, making cost contingency recommendations to the project team
• Analyze and make recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization, project objectives and guidelines
• Maintain a library of current local rates for use in all estimates

• Have grown your experience as an Estimator over 5 years with increasing levels of scope and responsibility in a construction environment
• Have demonstrated experience using estimating systems such as Sage Timberline, InEight, or CostX
• Have a degree or comparable experience in a construction related discipline
• Are RICS, CEP or CPE chartered or are on the path to complete it. We can help!
