Roles & Responsibilities

  • The MED will play a lead role in designing and verifying suitability of new products as well as updating existing products.
  • Maintaining our production control system, our technical publications (Operators and Parts Manuals) and our Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The MED will utilize their technical and organizational skills along with their practical knowledge, welding, fabrication and assembly processes to develop and maintain the systems that support the production operations.
  • Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes.
  • Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy, and operating convenience.
  • The MED, in conjunction with the Supervisors will monitor, audit and ensure that our Standard Operating Procedures are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • This position could Lead into managing an Engineering department. This would include assigning duties, supervising and providing guidance, training and coaching as required.
  • They will participate in functional and safety audits of our operations.

  • Proficient in 3D (Solidworks) design

  • Create assemblies, designs, BOMs, etc. using SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, practices and procedures
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel
  • Ability to give clear visual, written, and oral instruction
  • Problem-solving and project management skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for creative design work
  • Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly.
  • Preferred experience in the design and / or manufacturing of heavy / mobile / construction type equipment and understanding of engines, hydraulics, and basic electronics

Education and Experience

University Degree Mechanical Engineering, P. Eng licensed is a must .
