Job summary

Genetics is seeking a Mechanical Design Technician to join our team in Canada, where you will receive, identify, and analyze client needs and translate them into robust design deliverables that meet plans and specifications.

You will collaborate with engineers across projects, leveraging your experience and knowledge while maintaining adaptability and teamwork in a dynamic environment, with remote work options available.

Qualifications

• DEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 5–9 years of mechanical design experience.
• Fluent in French; English is an asset for client collaboration.
• Demonstrates adaptability, leadership, autonomy and teamwork.
• Solid understanding of client specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, and analyze client needs.
• Read, interpret, analyze plans and specifications.
• Participate in design of deliverables (concepts, plans, datasheets, calculations, manuals).
• Assist in selection of equipment for designs.
• Provide technical support during equipment manufacturing and commissioning.

HERE IS THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Holds a DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
• Haves 5 to 9 years of design experience in the mechanical field;
• Knowledge of SolidWorks/Revit software (an asset);
• Fluent in spoken and written French (fluency in English is an asset for collaborating with our clients outside Quebec);
• Demonstrates strong adaptability;
• Demonstrates positive leadership, autonomy, and a strong Teamwork skills;And above all, share our values: competence, autonomy, respect, and quality of life.A GLIMPSE OF WHAT AWAITS YOU:Receive, identify, and analyze client needs;Read, interpret, analyze, and understand the various technical clauses of plans and specifications;Participate in the design of various deliverables (technical concepts, plans, lists, datasheets, calculations, manuals, etc.), in accordance with client specifications and standards;Participate in the selection of equipment involved in the designs;Provide support technical expertise during equipment manufacturing;
