Job summary

WSP Canada is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student to support systems that keep buildings and communities running safely and efficiently. You will assist with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs, and work alongside engineers enabling real-world impact on smarter spaces.

You’ll gain hands-on experience through modelling, drawings, and documentation, while collaborating across disciplines and participating in site visits to raise performance and constructability.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Mechanical Engineering with hands-on academic or project experience.
  • Curious with problem-solving skills for HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, or building performance.
  • Familiar with modeling/analysis software and eager to learn more.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Willing to participate in field or site-based work and follow safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to mechanical system designs that support safe, efficient, and sustainable building environments.
  • Perform calculations, modelling, and analyses that inform critical engineering decisions.
  • Assist in developing drawings, technical documentation, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
  • Support multidisciplinary coordination between mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
  • Participate in site visits and help identify opportunities to enhance performance, efficiency, or constructability.
  • Apply innovative thinking to help integrate sustainable design principles into project solutions.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $22.00 – $32.25


MB & ON: $20.50 – $30.25


NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $19.50 – $30.25
