Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Construction Superintendent to lead day-to-day field activities across Canada, coordinating contractors, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery of projects.

You will monitor progress, manage field documentation, and collaborate with project teams while traveling on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation. Strong leadership and drawing interpretation skills are essential for success in dynamic field environments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, degree, trade certification, or equivalent experience in engineering technology, construction, industrial services, environmental services, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising field operations, construction activities, industrial projects, or multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality management practices.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple activities, priorities, and stakeholders in dynamic field environments.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, work plans, and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the confidence to make decisions in the field.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel and work at project sites across Canada on a rotational basis, typically 2 weeks in/2 weeks out, as required.

  • Collaborate with project managers, technical specialists, and clients to resolve field challenges and support project success.
  • Conduct site inspections, field reviews, and quality assurance activities to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate field documentation, reports, and project records.
  • Mentor and support team members by sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and promoting professional growth.

As a Senior Construction Superintendent within our Applied Solutions team, you will play a key role in coordinating field operations, supporting project delivery, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

This role supports projects across Canada. Project locations will vary depending on business needs. Travel to and from project sites will be provided on a rotational basis, with typical schedules of 2 weeks on site followed by 2 weeks off (2-in/2-out rotation). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in dynamic field environments while contributing to impactful projects across the country.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $46.00 - $61.00/hr

MB & ON: $42.00 - $ 57.80/hr

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $41.60 - $55.20/hr
