Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager to join a large manufacturing client in their Buildings and Utilities group. This role supports engineering projects across Canadian facilities, with a primary focus on the Bridgewater site.

You will manage buildings, utilities, and infrastructure projects, coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, and drive projects through a structured waterfall PM process from feasibility to handover, ensuring

Qualifications

  • Background in mechanical engineering, with experience in industrial or plant settings.
  • Experience leading building utilities and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong HVAC expertise, including temperature and humidity control.
  • Familiarity with HVAC controls systems and collaboration with technical teams.
  • Experience with power generation or utility systems in facilities.
  • Solid PM skills: scope, risk, cost, schedule, and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication; ability to clarify scope and manage expectations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, plant stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Onsite presence in Bridgewater five days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical/building utilities projects from feasibility through construction and handover.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, plant stakeholders, contractors, and purchasing.
  • Manage scope, cost, time, and risk within the client’s PM process.
  • Deliver projects with best performance-to-cost ratio while meeting standards.
  • Oversee HVAC and humidity/temperature control initiatives in production areas.

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager to join one of our large manufacturing clients within their Engineering of Buildings and Utilities group. This individual will support building and utilities-related engineering projects across the client’s Canadian facilities, with a primary focus on the Bridgewater site.

This person will act as the engineering project manager for buildings, utilities, and infrastructure projects, working closely with internal engineering teams, plant stakeholders, construction contractors, purchasing, and project partners.

The role requires someone who can understand technical needs, manage scope, evaluate cost, time, and risk, and carry projects through the client’s structured waterfall project management process. This position is responsible for providing the utilities/equipment required to achieve project objectives at the best performance-to-cost ratio while following Michelin and industry standards.The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, hands-on experience with building utilities and HVAC systems, and the ability to manage projects from feasibility through construction, commissioning, handover, and reporting. This person will also take over some existing projects, including HVAC and humidity/temperature control initiatives within production areas.

Skills and Requirements
  • Mechanical engineering background, ideally with experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments.
  • Experience managing building utilities and infrastructure projects, including maintenance and project execution.
  • Strong HVAC systems experience, specifically with temperature and humidity control in production or process environments.
  • Experience with HVAC controls systems and the ability to work with technical teams on control-related requirements.
  • Experience with power generation or utility systems within an industrial or facilities environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including scope definition, documentation, risk tracking, cost awareness, schedule management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to ask the right questions, clarify scope, manage expectations, and avoid missed requirements.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including internal engineering groups, plant stakeholders, construction contractors, purchasing, and external partners.
  • Comfortable working onsite in Bridgewater 5 days/week
