Job Location: Canyon Fuel Company, Fossil Rock Mine

Fossil Rock Mine is seeking applications for all engineering disciplines specifically: Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering

SUMMARY:

Fossil Rock Mine is an underground mining complex that recently began production. Fossil Rock Mine is located in Cottonwood Canyon, just outside of the town of Orangeville in Emery County UT.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Mine site engineering projects as assigned.
  2. Economic evaluations of projects.
  3. Develops, implements and monitors safety action plans, pre-work examination, safety evaluation processes, and internal safety monitoring processes.
  4. Prepare specifications for all equipment to be used in assigned discipline.
  5. Develop, maintain and refine programs and plan for improvements in equipment and processes.
  6. Develop planned maintenance programs for various equipment systems.
  7. As necessary, develop Petitions for Modification, and MSHA approvals for field modifications.
  8. Equipment modifications.
  9. Interface with mine site, corporate and government regulatory personnel as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Engineering
  • Underground coal mining experience/interest is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Handle several projects concurrently
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and other computer programs
