INVIRO is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Gloucester, Ontario team. The role focuses on design, load calculations, and HVAC/plumbing/fire protection systems for industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings.

You will oversee projects from design to construction and ensure compliance with relevant codes and LEED requirements. Ideal candidates hold a P.Eng designation and have 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
• Prepare contract documents including specifications.
• Evaluate shop drawings.
• Manage projects from design through construction with ASHRAE and LEED considerations where applicable.
• Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
• Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
• Provide expertise in identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
• Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
• Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
• Manage projects from design through construction. Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
• Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
• Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
• Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
• 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
• Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $85,000 - $120,000 /per annum This compensation represents INVIRO's current anticipated range for this position.

Actual compensation offered may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.
