Job summary

Williams Engineering Canada Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 4–6 years of experience to serve as a Technical Lead on diverse projects in Western and Northern Canada.

You will collaborate with project teams, manage design work, and mentor junior staff from our regional office in Vancouver. The role covers HVAC, energy analysis, piping and plumbing, and sustainability design, with emphasis on cost control, schedule adherence, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• P.Eng. Status with appropriate provincial association
• 4 – 6 years of experience minimum

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Team Lead/ Project Manager/ Engineering Manager to deliver finished projects in a timely manner.
• Coordinate information with Project Manager; gather and relay useful data.
• Modify established standards and apply criteria in new contexts.
• Identify innovative technical approaches to mechanical engineering.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior teammates and review reports.
• Resolve mechanical/construction issues, cost implications and conflicts with contractors.
• Propose design options to mitigate risks and protect client relationships.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Technical Leads to resolve interdisciplinary design conflicts.
• Assist in proposals and may manage client-facing proposal writing.
• Share expertise with other offices and may act as client contact.
• Support and improve quality control and cost validation (OPs, change orders, earned value).
• Prepare engineering design, specifications, and recommendations for HVAC, energy analysis, equipment, fuel systems, piping, plumbing, and sustainable design.
