Job description

Our customer, a major oil and gas producer, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer – EIM

for a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension. This position is based in Calgary and follows a Monday-Friday schedule. The successful candidate will primarily work with various stakeholders to ensure that Critical Technical documents are complete (all related documents), accurate, searchable, and accessible to all site users.

Role Requirements:

  1. Understanding of the Technical and Vendor Documentation lifecycle from Design, Issued for Construction, Redlines, QA/QC, and as-built final Document Deliverables, to be stored in the McLaren Document Management System. This includes creating a Project Document/Drawing List at the start of a project that encompasses all related documents across impacted disciplines, and managing Authentication requirements.
  2. Understanding of the ENGWO/MOC process workflow and its integration with Maximo.
  3. Detail-oriented, investigative personality with creativity and perseverance to connect information from various sources, including network drives and physical storage like Iron Mountain.
  4. Collaborate closely with other Discipline Engineering Focals on the EIM team, as most projects involve multi-discipline documentation.
  5. Strong communication skills to work effectively with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Document Control departments.
  6. Proficiency in Excel for auditing and comparing datasets; experience with Access or other databases is a plus.
  7. Ability to quickly learn new software and provide demonstrations (e.g., McLaren, Smart Review, TruView).
  8. APEGA Professional Engineer (Mechanical) with 10-15 years of experience. Preferably with experience working with Owner Project teams and EPC teams on Legacy Projects. Experience in Oilsands and Field operations is an asset.

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restrictions and willing to undergo pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal background check.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
