Job description

Your mission:

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, this position provides maintenance engineering and project management services to successfully implement assigned capital and major expense projects supporting area teams. Emphasis is on project scope development, approval process, and management of procurement and construction activities. Effective management of project schedule, budget, and scope from inception to completion is essential.

  • Act as Project Manager for capital projects
  • Provide Mechanical Engineering support for capital and maintenance projects
  • Contribute to asset life cycle planning and ongoing maintenance
  • Assist in maintaining plant standards for mechanical assets
  • Serve as a technical resource for maintenance work order planning
Your profile:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineering status, registered with APEGA
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a Kraft Pulp Mill
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with computer maintenance management systems (SAP, Maximo, etc.), AutoCAD; knowledge of ASME codes B31.1 and B31.3; proficiency with MS Project
  • Familiarity with pressure equipment integrity management
  • Effective communication skills in oral and written forms with all organizational levels
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving, technical, and project management skills
