Overview

AtkinsRéalis is growing and our Western Canadian Engineering group is seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Winnipeg. Engineers support the execution of a wide variety of projects by providing technical expertise and support for business development activities. Technical knowledge of mechanical systems in buildings, rail and transportation, industrial, or nuclear environments will set you apart.

Team & Projects

Our Engineering Services teams are located in Calgary, Winnipeg, and Vancouver and are a dynamic, tight‑knit community of professionals. We service local projects while contributing to large national and international projects as part of distributed virtual project teams. Projects span Healthcare, National Defense, Light + Heavy Industrial, Transportation (Rail + Transit, Ports + Marines + Tunnels), Municipal, Federal (including Defense + Nuclear), and Institutional industries.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of a registered engineer, perform tasks related to mechanical systems design for design mandates of various complexity.
  • Support mechanical engineering design deliverables for assigned projects, including investigations, report writing, design and construction administration tasks under the direction of a registered engineer of record.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency, accuracy, and neatness of mechanical engineering deliverables as part of corporate QA/QC program.
  • Perform site investigations safely, including travelling to site, walking around construction sites, carrying a ladder or other items (≈35 lbs) around site, climbing ladder to access ceiling space, lowering self to observe mechanical systems low to ground, and committing to safety regulations and requirements.
  • Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office to prepare deliverables as required.
  • Review, understand and clearly communicate all relevant client requirements, provide design solutions and recommendations to match those requirements.
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Registered as either an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with your local provincial engineering association, and willing to become a member in other provinces.
  • PMP designation or CAPM certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering consulting with progressive responsibilities. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and relevant industry standards.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong business acumen and client‑facing skills. Demonstrable experience building and maintaining long‑term relationships with clients—including understanding client objectives, anticipating and meeting client needs, and growing the business.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
