The quest

As a forensic expert, you'll be solving some of the most peculiar and perplexing cases that come our way. No mystery is too small or too big for you to handle. Here’s what you will typically be doing:

  1. Conduct investigations to determine the root and cause of damage, failures, design & construction defects in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, materials, and fire protection systems and equipment.
  2. Visit the location of an incident, record and gather evidence. Review technical documentation that may include engineering drawings, relevant standards, regulations, operating manuals, and maintenance records.
  3. Gather details regarding the background and circumstances surrounding the incident by taking photographs, videos, and interviewing individuals associated with the incident.
  4. Collaborate with experts in other disciplines, as needed, for complex investigations requiring different specialties.
  5. Carefully dismantle components or assemblies in a systematic and non-destructive manner to obtain the evidence, as needed. Perform on-site or laboratory examinations of the evidence to assess whether it may have been the cause of a loss and to determine the failure mechanism. Safely secure evidence for further analysis, and presentation to client and/or in court, if required.
  6. Attend client meetings to discuss the investigation outcome. Prepare preliminary and comprehensive investigation reports for clients. Provide expert testimony in court when required.
  7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and execute all phases according to internal and external standards. Liaise with, and work as part of, multi-disciplinary teams investigating the technical aspects of insurance or legal related losses.
  8. Participate in marketing and business development activities.
  9. Comply with the requirements of the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with the ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
  10. Always follow HSE guidelines, procedures, and policies. Ensure safety of self, others, and assets.
