  • Stress / load calculations and design analysis
  • Equipment specifications, BOMs, and FMEAs
  • Utilize drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) to produce industry-standard mechanical designs.
  • Conduct sizing and selection of key process components (e.g., pumps, tanks, motors, heat exchangers, dryers, distillation columns, etc.).
  • Develop test plans and procedures for functional and factory acceptance testing in compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting and investigation of fabrication and performance issues, ensuring adherence to nuclear QA standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors, construction teams, and stakeholders through all project phases—from concept through closeout.
  • Review and validate vendor drawings, system assembly procedures, and onsite fabrication compliance.
  • Ensure integration with instrumentation, controls, and software systems to deliver a complete solution.
  • Perform procurement engineering tasks, support QA resolution, and manage scheduling requirements.
  • Maintain strong customer communication and support project execution with effective reporting and updates.

  • Solid understanding of national / international codes and standards relevant to mechanical design and nuclear applications.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality standards such as CSA N299, CSA N285, and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Human Performance (HU) principles—experience within a nuclear HU culture is preferred.
