I'm currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a fast-growing and innovative manufacturing company specializing in power transformers. This is a dynamic, full-time day shift role based in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, with strong opportunities for internal growth.
Your Role
* Design mechanical components for transformers based on customer needs (piping, wiring, casing structure, etc.)
* Prepare engineering documents for client approval and ensure proper follow-up
* Perform mechanical design calculations (stress, strength, seismic, etc.)
* Participate in design reviews with clients and internal teams
* Produce manufacturing drawings and bills of materials
* Provide technical support to designers, junior engineers, clients, and subcontractors
* Supervise, train, and mentor junior team members
* Research and integrate technological trends in mechanical design
* Validate specifications and ensure the technical quality of deliverables
Your Profile
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in mechanical design (heavy industry, manufacturing, or related field)
* Experience in transformers or electrical equipment (a strong asset)
* Proficient in Autocad, SolidWorks, CATIA (Inventor also appreciated)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and an ERP system (e.g., Microsoft D365)
* Member of the OIQ or in the process of becoming one (an asset)
* French required - functional English or bilingualism is an asset
* Analytical mindset, proactive, detail-oriented, and good communicator across teams
Working Conditions
* Permanent full-time position - 40 hours/week, day shift
* 1 day of remote work per week
* Salary between $80,000 and $95,000, depending on experience
* Bonuses: 3 annual bonuses (individual performance, team performance, and company results)
