The Research and Productivity Council (RPC) is NB?s provincial research and technology organization, offering analytical services and applied research. In business since 1962, we serve over 1000 clients annually from our locations in Fredericton and Moncton, New Brunswick.Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services and based on-site at our Fredericton location, the *Mechanical Engineer* will work on a wide range of productivity improvement and design projects across a diverse range of industries and sectors.*Key responsibilities of this position include: *· Collaborate with multi-discipline team of engineers, technologists and machinists to deliver innovative solutions to our clients· Perform simulation and optimization of manufacturing plant design & layouts with the goal of improving productivity, often via the adoption of technology· Perform detailed design of machinery and automated systems, including automated and/or robotic work cells· Interface with prospective clients to scope-out potential projects· Represent RPC at industry events to promote our engineering services· Manage project deliverables and timelines*The ideal candidate for this position will have:*· University degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related field with a minimum of three (3) years of work experience· Substantial experience with mechanical design software (Solidworks preferred)· Experience with factory simulation software an asset· Knowledge of machine vision and/or robotic systems an asset· Experience with Python programming an asset· Eligible for registration as a P.Eng with APEGNB· Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative problem-solving approach· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite· Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exhibit a high level of flexibility and an ability to anticipate and adapt quickly to shifting priorities is essential· Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick· Willing to travel occasionally· Written and spoken competence in English, ability to communicate in French is an asset.An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.*Compensation Package:*Compensation range is commensurate with education and experience.
