Job description

Major general contractor seeking experienced Mechanical & Electrical MEP Manager to focus on healthcare construction in Toronto and Vancouver. Salary $150k – $190k. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.

As a Mechanical & Electrical MEP Manager you will:
  • Plan the mechanical and electrical components of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and the Project Manager
  • Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for the mechanical and electrical components of the job, and assists the Project Manager to ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings
  • The Mechanical & Electrical MEP Manager will monitor in conjunction with the Superintendent, a project’s material and labour costs for mechanical and electrical components and assure accurate quality reporting is being conducted
  • Assist the Project Manager by leading project meetings, determining the status of the job in terms of scheduling and costing and solve complex technical issues
  • Review mechanical and electrical changes received From the architect to ensure they are complete and up to standards and review subcontractor prices on these changes
  • Lead an implement M&E quality control program to ensure subcontractor quality plan is being execute
  • Collaborate with the project team on planning and coordination for all on-site mechanical and electrical activities while keeping compliance of specifications, requirements and codes top of mind
  • Put your proactive problem-solving skills to work to coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference issues
  • Utilize your passion for organization through the maintenance of schedule requirements and priorities, mechanical and electrical RFI’s, shop drawings, contracts and project completion documents
  • Share your mechanical and electrical expertise and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members
  • Be the go-to person for the organization and facilitation of mechanical and electrical coordination and interference meetings
  • Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates
  • Take pride in compiling and completing company-wide project reports

Requirements of Mechanical & Electrical MEP Manager
  • You have a construction related degree/diploma
  • 5-7 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
  • Leads and delegates to a large team while coordinating construction between multiple trades to achieve building success
