Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Whitehorse, Yukon is seeking a Mechanical EIT to join a multidisciplinary group delivering commercial, institutional and light industrial projects across Northern Canada. The role offers exposure to design and drafting in REVIT and AutoCAD, collaboration with engineers and technologists, and opportunities for professional growth in a vibrant northern market.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering and a license, or plan to become licensed to practice in the Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut.
• ASc.T. Technical/Technologist designation considered an asset.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
• Assist in the design of building related mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials.
• Review equipment selections, perform preliminary engineering calculations, and develop preliminary designs.
• Produce aspects of mechanical design and drawings in REVIT, as well as in AutoCAD.
• Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.
• Work closely with the Mechanical Engineer and engineering group in recommending the best use of project tools to achieve project objectives.
