Job description

We are hiring a Mechanical Drafter to join our customer site in Vaughan.

The company is a leading distributor of water pumps and blowers across Canada.

The ideal candidate

As a Mechanical Drafter your mission is to create and maintain engineering drawings and documentation with the use of CAD software while working closely with other departments to solve problems in a timely and effective manner.

The duties of the Mechanical Drafter include:

Create drawings based on sketches and verbal and/or written specifications obtained from the Engineering Team.

• Work directly with the Engineering Team to design and produce working drawings for the manufacturing process which include bills of materials.
• Consult and collaborate with the sales team, project management and the shop.
• Consistently deliver on deadlines.
• Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain all revisions of project drawings following document control policies.
• Update and maintain drafting log.
• Communicate challenges and potential solutions in a timely manner.
• Work in a safe manner to ensure personal safety but also ensure the safety of all teammates.
• Assist with QA/QC production as required.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in a mechanical technology or drafting program
• Fluent in Solidworks
• Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
• Basic understanding and the ability to modify electrical drawings
• Machine shop experience, and knowledge of manufacturing methodologies is an asset
• Can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably
• Knowledge of pumps and rotating equipment.
• Minimum of 5 years experience required

Shift: Monday-Friday

Pay: Starting at $75,000 annually
