Job summary

Tower Engineering Group in Calgary is seeking a Mechanical Drafter experienced with AutoCAD and Revit to join our Mechanical Department. You will contribute to a range of building systems and draw through the design life of projects.

You will work with senior designers on ventilation, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection projects, producing drawings and schedules, coordinating with other disciplines, and contributing to professional development opportunities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD and Revit for drafting drawings.
• Experience on ventilation, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection drawings.
• Ability to work with senior designers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers, engineers, and drafting specialists on projects.
• Prepare mechanical drawings and schedules using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Develop tender and construction drawings for a wide range of clients.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines.
• Revise drawings based on markups and project requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of current codes and industry practices.
• Pursue continued improvements in mechanical design and drafting.

Our Mechanical Department in our Calgary office has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Drafter who is experienced in using AutoCad and Revit.

Past experience in the fields of commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-family projects would be considered an asset in fulfilling this position. Key responsibilities include the following:

• Work closely with senior designers, engineers, and drafting specialists on projects that include ventilation, building services (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection), and other mechanical systems;
• Prepare and develop mechanical drawings and schedules using Revit and AutoCAD, including preliminary, schematic, general arrangement, detailed design for tender, and construction drawings for a wide range of clients;
• Assist in the design and coordination of mechanical systems with other disciplines;
• Revise drawings and layouts based on markups, design direction, and project requirements;
• Maintain familiarity with current codes, standards, and industry practices;
• Actively work at improving current knowledge of mechanical design and drafting.
