Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Montreal, QC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Duration: Permanent
Work Hours: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day

As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in developing hardware design solutions for complex engineering systems. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality mechanical designs that meet customer and project requirements. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence three days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings based on project specifications.
  • Analyze technical requirements, engineering drawings, and stakeholder input.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams and manufacturing groups to ensure cohesive design execution.
  • Identify and implement technical solutions to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Support the manufacturing team during prototype builds and production.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design and production workflow.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex project environment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficient in parametric CAD tools (Creo preferred).
  • Experience with PLM systems such as Windchill.
  • Skilled in large assembly design, sheet metal design, and surface modeling.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English and French (required).
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with SolidWorks or CATIA.
