Job summary

Bosch Rexroth in Canada seeks an engineer to design and develop Power Unit/Manifold lines, creating and revising assembly drawings and BOMs for manufacturing.

You will lead design reviews, perform FEA, and collaborate with production, quality, sales, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency. Travel to Pennsylvania for onboarding may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, creating 3D designs and performing FEA (Autodesk Inventor, CREO)
  • Able to learn how to read schematic and circuits
  • Experience with pipe and tubing specification and design
  • Familiar with tolerance stack up analysis
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applications
  • Exposure to product development process and DFMEA
  • Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic system design and component selection
  • Proficiency in technical drawing standards and documentation (ANSI, ISO)
  • Capable to prioritize tasks and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to approach problems using a systematic problem-solving method
  • Experience with material selection and specification for manufacturing applications
  • Project management experience or demonstrated ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated individual who is team oriented and possesses strong analytical capabilities
  • Able to travel to the Pennsylvania, USA for training on a regular basis, specially duringthe onboarding/training process

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Power Unit/Manifold product lines.
  • Create, amend, and verify assembly and detail drawings for manufacturing.
  • Produce design releases and final BOMs.
  • Generate Engineering Change Notifications when necessary.
  • Design cost efficient and technically sound power units/manifolds.
  • Meet project time and budget requirements.
  • Assist Production and Quality with risk assessments of design deviations, including FEA.
  • Support Sales & Engineering in review of customer specifications and time estimates.
  • Collaborate with other departments or vendors on materials and instructions.
  • Maintain design files in accordance with procedures.
  • Collaborate on design optimization and manufacturability reviews.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical feedback.
  • Document design decisions and maintain history records.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of design processes and performance.
  • Provide technical support during prototype testing and validation.

Job Description
  • Development and design of the Power Unit/Manifold product lines
  • Create, amend, and verify assembly and detail design drawings for the manufacturing of power units based on customer requirements/specifications and in accordance with department and industry standards
  • Produce design releases and final production bills of materials
  • Generate Engineering Change Notifications when necessary
  • Design cost efficient and technically sound power units/manifolds
  • Responsible for meeting project time and budget requirements
  • Assist Production and Quality departments with risk assessments of deviations to design, including FEA
  • Support Sales & Engineering in the review of customer specifications prior to quotation, including design time estimates as well as conceptual designs
  • Work with other departments or outside vendors in proper specification or interpretation of materials or work instructions
  • Maintain well-organized design files in accordance with department and company procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design optimization and manufacturability reviews to ensure efficient production
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical feedback to ensure all designs meet specifications and quality standards
  • Document design decisions and maintain comprehensive design history records for traceability and future reference
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes, efficiency, and overall product performance
  • Provide technical support during prototype testing and validation phases to verify design functionality and performance
