Job summary

AME Consulting Group in Vancouver is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our collaborative team on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction.

You will apply your 2–5 years of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection experience, with a focus on sustainable design and compliance with current building codes. We offer hybrid work options, competitive pay, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation preferred but not mandatory.
• 2–5 years of technical mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) experience.
• Sustainable design certification (LEED, Passive House Designer, etc.) or equivalent experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
• System design calculations and equipment selections.
• Preparation of contract drawings and documentation.
• Project coordination with team designers and external design professionals.
• Comply with AME Quality management standards and processes.

Position Details

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our Vancouver office. In this role, you will be working in a collaborative team on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction. You should be an experienced designer with an excellent track record and considerable technical knowledge. Creative thinking and a proactive attitude, along with strong communication, organizational and report writing skills, are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
