In This Role, You Will

  • Lead or support custom design and development projects
  • Design products from concept through realization using 3D CAD software and support tools
  • Identify, review, interpret, and apply relevant industry rules, specifications, and codes
  • Evaluate and select materials and components for product designs
  • Create, maintain, and verify BoMs, drawings, specifications and other technical documents
  • Analyze components and systems through engineering calculations and FEA
  • Define component and product test requirements, including related equipment and safety measures
  • Support sales, and interface directly with customers, to evaluate inquiries and define solutions as required to secure new work
  • Provide technical support to purchasing, production, and QA for materials, processes, and special requirements
  • Ensure all designs meet required specifications and quality requirements, while also ensuring design for cost, reuse, manufacture, and test

  • What You Bring

  • BASc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience, or Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD (PTC Creo is an asset)
  • Experience with structural and pressure component analysis and FEA is an asset.
  • Experience with optical, fiber optic, or precision mechanical design is an asset.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
