Job Summary:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Building Services Designer or Technician to support the planning, design, and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems for commercial, educational, and institutional/municipal buildings. This role involves working with a team of engineers and project managers to ensure building systems are functional, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and draft building services systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical services using CAD tools.
• Prepare detailed drawings, schematics, and layouts for mechanical installations.
• Assist in load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Support the coordination of building services with architectural and structural layouts.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet project specifications and codes.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and schedules.
• Prepare sketches and diagrams as needed to assist contractors during deviations from the original design.
• Ensure designs adhere to standards such as ASHRAE and local building codes.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in building services design or drafting.
• Proficiency in CAD and MS Office suite.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with building codes, fire safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently after receiving conceptual guidelines from Design Engineers or Project Supervisors.

Preferred Skills:
