Travel: 5-10% to customer sites throughout USA & Canada

**Only candidates fluent in both English and French language skills will be considered for this position**

The successful candidate will receive a strong base salary, an excellent full medical program, life insurance, up to four weeks of PTO (DOE) as well as a strong company-matched retirement savings plan.

You will be expected to work 40 hours per week over five days with minimal unsocial hours expected. There is also the opportunity to receive additional bonuses through successful project completions in line with company policies.

This is a great opportunity to work with a personable, knowledgeable, and top-of-class engineering department that designs industrial automation machinery for some of the biggest CPG manufacturers in the USA and Canada.

You will also be required to complete the OIQ membership program and will be given full support and financial backing to qualify for this from the organization.

If you enjoy bringing ideas to life using cutting-edge equipment and technology and want to enjoy a greater work-life balance then this Mechanical Engineering position is for you.

The ideal candidate will create, draft, and design product layouts and schemes using customer specifications and recommendations. There is a greater emphasis on custom and bespoke projects but you will also work on improving and maintaining standard products also.

This individual will test products and make adjustments where necessary and occasionally will travel to customer sites to gain insight on project scopes and boundaries. Additionally, they will examine broken products and resolve issues for future designs.

Responsibilities

  • Led and collaborate with a team of Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and others in the design of industrial equipment suitable for the fast-paced CPG sector
  • Conduct product testing
  • Assess the feasibility of product design
  • Review defunct products

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years' of industry experience - ideally within machinery design for the packaging industry or automation machinery sector
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer-aided design (Inventor and/or Solidworks)
  • Bilingual in French and English both spoken and written.
