Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Current P.Eng designation with Professional Engineers Ontario.
• Experience designing complex, custom-engineered equipment or machinery.
• Experience performing mechanical engineering calculations and applying machine-design principles.
• Knowledge of welded structures, structural-member sizing, mechanical loading, machine elements, material selection.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation.
• Ability to make independent and defensible engineering decisions.
• Experience supporting equipment through manufacturing, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong cross-functional communication and project-support skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing complex, custom-engineered mechanical equipment.
• Performing engineering calculations and selecting materials/components.
• Assessing welded structures, member sizing, loading, machine elements, and mechanical performance.
• Supporting concept development, detailed design, manufacturability, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
• Reviewing mechanical designs, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and 3D models.
• Ensuring designs meet customer requirements, codes, specifications, and internal standards.
• Identifying design risks and resolving issues before manufacturing.
• Preparing engineering reports, calculations, evaluations, and technical specifications.
• Coordinating with CAD, Analysis, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, and Project Management.
• Participating in internal and customer design reviews.
• Providing technical guidance to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
