Role: Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Automation

Work Location: Cambridge, ON (Onsite)

Position Type: Open for Both (Contract and Full Time Permanent)

Experience Required: 5+ years of relevant experience

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record in delivering projects related to the design and simulation of manufacturing lines, with experience in automation engineering.

Responsibilities include:

1. Analyzing engineering drawings and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness, etc.
2. Creating working and detailed drawings, and bills of materials using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
3. Ensuring designs comply with applicable standards (e.g., OSHA, CE).
4. Reviewing drawings for accuracy, material selection, machining techniques, finishes, and hardness.
5. Designing tooling from sketches or verbal concepts.
6. Communicating design changes and task progress to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and supervising designer.
