Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings group is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead the study, design and management of diverse projects. You will drive innovative mechanical solutions across programs in Quebec and nationwide, mentoring engineers and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will oversee complex systems design in plumbing and ventilation and contribute to sustainable, award-winning projects. The role expects leadership in a growing practice with international exposure.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, including institutional projects in plumbing, ventilation and other complex systems.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Proven ability to communicate a clear vision, inspire and create high team commitment.
• Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, with aptitude for guiding and developing team skills.
• Expertise in mechanical design with ability to improve design processes.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.

Responsibilities

• Study, design and manage a variety of projects across Quebec, Canada and beyond in institutional, industrial, commercial and transportation settings.
• Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and design excellence.
• Contribute to sustainable development principles in integrated design solutions.

Your background

• Over 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including institutional projects in the fields of plumbing, ventilation, and other complex mechanical systems;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
• Proven ability to communicate a clear vision, inspire, and create a high level of commitment within the team;
• Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, with an aptitude for guiding and developing the skills of team members;
• Expertise in mechanical design, with an ability to improve design processes;
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.

Pay Range

• Locations in Lower Mainland -- BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$128,300.00 - $178,300.00 Annuel

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
