As the Mechanical CAD Designer, you will focus on developing mechanical drawings for our underwater acoustic systems. You’ll play a key role in supporting the design, build and test of mechanical components, while maintaining project documentation and collaborating with the project team to ensure project success. Responsibilities

  • Create detailed mechanical drawings at the component and sub-assembly level for sonar and winch products
  • Create and maintain BOMs
  • Support the design, build and test of mechanical components and sub-assemblies, including sonar and winch, electronics enclosures and racks
  • Maintain and update project files and documentation
  • Collaborate with project team to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience engineering technology and design.
  • Experience with electrical CAD software, including AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.
  • Experience in reading engineering documentation, wiring schematics and BOMs.
  • Practical design testing experience
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Passionate about build and test and producing a quality product
  • Good teamwork and communication skills

Security Requirement

All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances
