Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler - Afternoons.

What You’ll Do

Eaton is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler - Afternoon Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, Ontario location.

Position Overview

Eaton’s Milton Plant has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembler on our Afternoon shift. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position interprets manufacturing documents to mechanically assemble, fit, install prefabricated parts, or modify basic components, sub-assemblies, and structures using hand and power tools for the site's product lines.

In This Function You Will

  • Assemble components ensuring proper torque of bus and phase connectors.
  • Read and interpret drawings while ensuring assembly bill of material accuracy.
  • Check parts picked/delivered to ensure they match requirements. Resolve discrepancies with supervisor.
  • Escalate drawing concerns via appropriate channels.
  • Repair and modify errors detected by testing or inspection.
  • Work in compliance with CSA and UL codes.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process.
  • Apply consistent assembly methods for units on the same order.
  • Conduct visual inspections of materials before and after assembly, ensuring conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation, and appearance. Make mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Clean units and prepare for testing.
  • Check performance of completed components to ensure quality standards are met, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform packing and shipping duties.
  • Use fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools to assemble, adjust, or repair products.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing or six months in assembly.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON (no relocation offered).
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in assembly or repair of products.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.

Position Criteria

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures in manufacturing.
  • Experience with mechanical tools and measuring equipment.
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving, mathematical, computer, and troubleshooting skills.
