Job summary

West End Radiators is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to service and repair industrial radiators and related equipment at our Winnipeg facility.

You will disassemble and assemble radiators and components, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and read engineering drawings while working as part of a safety‑minded team.

A valid class 5 license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with HVAC, cranes, and forklifts are preferred; MOPIA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician education is considered an asset.
  • Experience with industrial heavy-duty equipment is required/advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and assemble radiators, fuel tanks, DPF components, heat exchangers, HVAC components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair customer equipment as required.

The Mechanic position:
  • The Mechanic disassembles and reassembles various radiators, and components.
Major Job Areas and Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble and assemble radiators, fuel tanks, DPF components, heat exchangers, HVAC components, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair customer equipment as required
Education, Experience and Key Competencies
  • Post-Secondary Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician education considered an asset
  • Experience and knowledge in industrial heavy-duty equipment
  • Experience in repairing automotive HVAC systems
  • Experience with cranes, forklifts and material handling equipment, an asset
  • Familiar with hand and power tools
  • Soldering, Welding or Brazing Experience is an asset
  • Diagnose and problem solve mechanical and electrical failures
  • Up-to-date MOPIA certification
  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience performing the duties of a motor vehicle mechanic or equivalent, relevant industry work experience; heavy duty preferred
  • Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Good organization skills, with ability to multi-task
  • Efficient and responsible with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Flexible and willing to do various tasks as assigned
  • Valid class 5 driver's license
  • Proven understanding of safe work practices
  • Ability to Travel to customer locations as needed
Working Conditions

This position requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs and handle repetitive operation of equipment, bending, reaching, kneeling, and stretching. Handling and gripping would be required for some activities. Exposure to dust/occasional excessive noise levels.
