Job summary

Summit Air in Yellowknife, NT is seeking a Mechanic's Helper to assist in the maintenance and repair of aircraft ground service equipment and related facilities.

You will perform scheduled and unscheduled troubleshooting, immediate repairs, and preventative maintenance, ensuring tools and work areas remain safe and organized.

The role involves liaising with vendors, securing favorable pricing for parts and services, and collaborating with a team in Canada's North within the Ledcor family.

Qualifications

  • 0-4 years experience in a maintenance shop environment.
  • Experience servicing and repairing motorized vehicles and industrial equipment is an asset.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Problem-solving skills, strong technical aptitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong verbal, written and computer skills.

Summit Air is currently hiring for a Mechanic's Helper to join the team in Yellowknife, NT!

The Mechanic's Helper will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of industrial aircraft ground service equipment, as well as general facilities maintenance.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft ground service equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Performs troubleshooting of aircraft ground support equipment on a scheduled/unscheduled basis.
  • Performs immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on company equipment.
  • Maintains and makes repairs to facilities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintains Equipment status report along with updating equipment service intervals.
  • Liaises with vendors and secures favorable pricing of parts and services; initiates purchase orders.
  • Keeps tools and support equipment in safe and operational working condition while maintaining a clean work environment.
Qualifications:
  • 0-4 years experience in a maintenance shop environment
  • Experience in servicing and repairing motorized vehicles and industrial equipment an asset
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Problem-Solving Skills/Strong Technical Aptitude/Strong Work Ethic/Ability to take direction and learn quickly/Strong verbal, written and computer skills
  • Ability to work well with others and alone
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
