Job summary

Norland is seeking experienced Lead Heavy Duty Mechanics to join their team in Victoria, BC, working with Western Grater Contracting. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic drilling equipment, as well as related machinery.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and eager to grow with additional training opportunities. Union wages range from $45.85 to $52.60 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Red Seal preferred or 3rd/4th year apprentice required.
• 3+ years’ experience as a mechanic, preferably in field work.
• Experience with hydraulic drilling equipment, cranes, compressors, excavators, etc.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic drilling equipment.
• Work with related machinery and electrical systems as needed.
• Demonstrate safety-focused practices and teamwork.

What You’ll Need

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic preferred, or 3rd or 4th year apprentice
• 3+ years’ experience as a mechanic, preferably with field experience
• Experience with hydraulic drilling equipment, cranes, compressors, excavators, etc.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues
• Valid class 5 driver’s license (no restrictions)
• Safety-focused attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as required

What Will Make You Stand Out
