Shift : Monday to Friday : 3:30 pm – 12:00 am (40 hours / week)

Starting Wage : $39.02 / hour

Description

The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on- / off-road and heavy-duty equipment to ensure proper function, vehicle safety, and to meet quality and performance goals.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair on- / off-road and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals.
  • Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA)).
  • Communicate concerns or escalate unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager.
  • Respond to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Education & Experience

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license.
  • Clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements.

Skills

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and collision repairs, service reports, logs, and maintenance.

Working Conditions : Warehouse environment; on the road
