Job summary

United Rentals in Charlottetown, Canada is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech II - CES) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment in a safe, professional manner.

You will document work orders, demonstrate equipment to customers, and may travel to job sites. Requires 1–2 years’ experience or trade school, a valid license, and own tools; lifting up to 45 lbs is expected. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders in a complete and timely manner.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance when required; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment & parts.
