Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment in a safe, professional manner. You’ll service a range of equipment, document work, and demonstrate complex gear to customers.

The role includes travel to job sites as needed, lifting up to 45 lbs, and opportunities for advancement within our Service Department. A strong focus on customer service and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate.
  • Must own tools applicable to position.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
  • Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
  • When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

As a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech II - CES), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on customer owned equipment in a safe and professional manner.

What you'll do:

Compensation Range:

$22.35 - $40.35
