As a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment, often independently, in a safe and professional manner. You'll have opportunities to challenge yourself and pursue leadership roles within our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key expectation for all team members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment using independent judgment.
• Travel to customer sites for repair / maintenance when required; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Maintain documentation of work performed accurately and promptly.
• Upsell and demonstrate complex equipment to customers.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup / delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience in repairing / maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is Safety Sensitive per United Rentals policies.
