Job summary

Sun West School Division invites applications for a Journeyperson Mechanic in the Biggar Bus Garage, Biggar, SK. This permanent, 40-hour per week position starts as soon as possible. Monday to Friday with no evenings or weekends. Excellent benefit and pension plans.

Supportive work environment. The successful applicant will handle day-to-day maintenance, safety and efficient management of school buses and other vehicles. Diesel engines experience is a plus; Class 5 license required.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson mechanic with strong interpersonal, communication and mechanical skills.
• Training/experience with diesel engines is an asset.
• Must hold a current Class 5 license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage day-to-day maintenance, safety and operation of school buses and other vehicles.
• Ensure reliable performance and safe operation of fleet.
• Collaborate with Transportation Supervisor and team to support efficient garage operations.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, safety and efficient management of the school buses and other vehicles as required. This position will be of interest to Journeyman Mechanics that possess strong interpersonal, communication and mechanical skills. Training and/or experience with diesel engines would be an asset. The successful applicant must hold a current class 5 license.

Salary and benefits for this position will be in accordance with the current Collective Agreement of CUPE Local 4802.
