Job Summary:
Assembly mechanics inspect finished products for proper functioning and check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning. They also diagnose problems and perform adjustments and repairs. Assembly mechanics communicate with line assemblers to rectify issues found.
Duties:
- Fit and install mechanical parts for finished products.
- Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Connect cables, tubes and wires.
- Inspect finished products for proper functioning. Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning.
- Diagnose problems. Perform adjustments and repairs.
- Operate or tend automated assembling equipment. Operate small cranes to transport or position larger parts.
Qualifications:
- Previous mechanical skills/experience or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Previous farm equipment experience is a definite asset.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems is preferred.
- Must be a reliable and dependable worker.
- Possess good manual dexterity.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well as a team member.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of the position.
