Qualifications

Underground Light Vehicle Mechanic (Toyotas)

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada's largest underground gold mines, located near Matachewan, Ontario. The 2020 expansion with automation has increased production and cash flow. We seek motivated and committed individuals to join our team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance, the successful candidate will perform maintenance, repair, and servicing on Toyota Landcruisers and light mining equipment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Inspect light vehicles for performance, detect faults, and malfunctions.
  • Remove, install, align, troubleshoot, and repair components.
  • Diagnose faults using testing equipment.
  • Understand power trains and electrical schematics.
  • Perform primary maintenance services.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on man carriers.
  • Repair light trucks, man carriers, and mining equipment.
  • Manage work-orders, find parts, and complete parts lists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Ability to diagnose and repair diesel Toyota equipment.
  • Minimum 5 years mechanical experience preferred; automotive trade certification an asset.
  • Ontario or inter-provincial trade qualification preferred.
  • Accredited in U/G common core modules; specialty modules an asset.
  • Strong safety focus and self-motivated to work independently.

Schedule: 5/5/4 rotating schedule, 10-hour shifts.
