Job description

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, installing new or upgraded equipment, and keeping accurate records of all work performed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on various equipment.
  • Perform installations of new and add-on equipment.
  • Conduct first, second, and third-line repairs, modifications, and maintenance.
  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Monitor parts usage, report discrepancies, and assist in ordering replacements.
  • Accurately complete work orders and document all repairs.
  • Test repaired equipment for performance and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubrication.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in technology and repair techniques.
  • Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Assist in developing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Mentor and train junior mechanics or new hires as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment and work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as required.
