Salary: $42.66 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Located in downtown Montreal, the Marriott Château Champlain is a modern and stylish hotel with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, and 25 meeting rooms. Fully renovated in 2021, it can host up to 1000 guests. Join our team to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to maintaining our facilities.

Under the supervision of the Director of Technical Services, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance across 611 hotel rooms, 25 meeting rooms, and all public areas including service zones. You will be trained to respond to emergencies as part of our fire brigade. The role involves working with colleagues to maintain equipment and building systems to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

The role supports the maintenance department by providing technical assistance in plumbing, refrigeration, electrical systems, and other hotel departments.

Work hours are in rotating shifts: 12-hour shifts, 14 days from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, followed by 14 days from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with days off in between.

Technical Requirements:

• Valid skills cards
• Minimum qualification MMF class 4 and B refrigeration certificate

Responsibilities:

• Operate, check, and assist in maintaining equipment such as chillers, heat exchangers, steam systems, HVAC units, compressors, fire systems, and control systems.
• Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and safety procedures.
• Respond to guest service calls related to room issues.
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness of mechanical rooms.
• Supervise subcontractors and coordinate equipment shutdowns.
• Assist in setting up audio-visual equipment for events.
• Participate in implementing best practices aligned with Marriott standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (D.E.P.) in relevant field
