Responsibilities
  1. Install, maintain, repair, and ensure the proper functioning of mechanical equipment and systems (such as purified water systems, HVAC, BAS, coolers, air compressors, water heaters, and boilers, water treatment).
  2. Perform general maintenance tasks on installations, including plumbing repairs and other maintenance activities.
  3. Use building systems safely and efficiently, in accordance with government regulations and standardized procedures.
  4. Carry out predictive, preventive, and routine maintenance, including equipment inspections and responding to service requests as per client directives.
  5. Inspect and repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors to ensure proper operation of equipment and systems.
  6. Monitor electrical and mechanical loads of critical systems.
  7. Coordinate with the team responsible for essential activities, including planning maintenance schedules, participating in meetings, interacting with suppliers, and managing project communications.
  8. Perform all tasks safely and according to established standards and practices.
  9. Conduct emergency repairs or preventive maintenance outside normal hours as needed, including on-call support.
  10. Create and maintain maintenance procedures.
  11. Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of the purified water system.
  12. Establish preventive activities based on technical knowledge, usage, experience, and manufacturer requirements.
  13. Document maintenance activities and related modifications according to procedures.
  14. Report any procedural modifications or discrepancies and conduct investigations to identify root causes and establish action plans.
  15. Manage activities or tasks performed by contractors, including access control, review, revision, and approval of contracts and reports.
  16. Compile data related to maintenance tasks, prepare measurements, and generate reports.
  17. Assist the validation team in preparing and conducting validation activities.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of building equipment maintenance and operation, such as purified water systems, HVAC, BAS, coolers, air compressors, water heaters, and water treatment.
  • Class 4B certification.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and packaging processes used in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Understanding of GMP standards applicable to maintenance activities.
  • Ability to write technical reports.
  • Teamwork skills and coordination with service providers.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills to implement effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call support and outside regular hours.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management software (GMAO) and office software (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Functional bilingualism in English and French.
