Job summary

Pomerleau, Lévis, QC, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair large-engine machinery on site. You will perform preventive maintenance, tests, and part replacements, and discuss repairs with the supervisor to plan work.

The role requires a DEC in construction equipment mechanics, a heavy vehicle mechanic certification, 3+ years of experience, and knowledge of CAT ET diagnostic systems; strong safety standards apply.

Qualifications

  • A college diploma (DEC) in construction equipment mechanics.
  • A heavy vehicle mechanic certification.
  • Three (3) years or more of relevant experience on large-engine equipment.
  • Knowledge of CAT ET diagnostic systems and various heavy equipment types.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment operation and examine machines to detect defects and malfunctions.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts using hand or power tools.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures using diagnostic systems to determine repairs.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper working condition and that repairs meet specs.
  • Prepare inspection certificates following repair and inspection.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Discuss operation, condition, and upcoming repairs with the supervisor.
  • Participate in training related to acquisition of new equipment and machinery.

What you will do
